Madurodam

The de Jong family treated us to a day at Madurodam.  This is a miniature village type place where all of the famous or historical places in Holland are miniaturized and displayed in this amazing area.

Anne Frank House

It was a moving experience to visit the Anne Frank House.  It was clear that Anne didn't have hope in the end and that has weighed heavily on me since visiting the museum.  If only she would have known Jesus as her personal savior I think there would have been hope in Anne's heart.  She was a smart, introspective young lady whose parents didn't know how deep she was.  She was also very brave.  I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to visit this museum.

Amsterdam - Day 2

Day 2 of our Amsterdam trip consisted of Windmills and wooden shoes (clogs) in the morning.
Clogs from around the world.  I thought these were quite interesting.

Making the clogs.  They use a template (blank) kind of like is used when making keys.

He is showing us his clogs and how to get the correctly fitting clogs.

Carrie trying on clogs that fit her.

My feet in clogs.

Some beautiful houses outside of the clog village.

The windmills.  I liked them a lot!  :)

Keukenhof

For Spring Break Carrie and I (as well as two other teachers) were invited by a family at school to travel to Amsterdam with them.  I was an amazing trip!  We were very comfortable and were able to stay with a relative of this family!  They were wonderful and we felt so blessed.  On our first day in Amsterdam we went to Keukenhof which is a HUGE flower garden mostly consisting of tulips.  It was so beautiful and reminded us that God is so creative!

This was one spot were you could see fields of tulips!

I giggle everytime..

Carrie and I received this tea in the mail from a good friend at Christmas time!  It is very good tea.  I was looking at the ingredients the other day.  Don't ask me why.  I guess it is just a habit when you have food allergies.  There are not many ingredients but one in particular makes me giggle each time I see it...Natural Sugar Cookie Flavoring.  I think that is the ingredient that makes it such a yummy tea!

Did you see that?!

Coming home on the U-bahn one day I saw something that really confused me.  So, I had to take a second look but the Ubahn was pulling away by that point.  I was, however, able to get a second look and this is what I saw...
A sign advertising our school!
It is at the Kaisermuehlen stop.  This is also the stop for the United Nations and the  IAEA.

Full of Cuteness...

Every year, for Book Month, the Kindergarten (called Primary here) through 2nd grade classes perform a musical based on a book.  This year it was called Goldie and the Bears, based off of, you guessed it, Goldilocks and the Three Bears!  The kiddos were so CUTE!  Soak in the cuteness below with the pictures!  They will make you smile and your heart melt just a tad!  ;)
